Mel Tormé sings NY

Had Songs of New York album long ago and played and played it, only to give it to a Tormé fan who somehow didn’t own it.  Will repurchase for research.

Yesterday bought a mysterious NY souvenir for that girl. Pre-trip souvenir of course. Bought it while arranging framing for our Mickey Mouse print. Paul pays more for the frame than I did for the print in the good ol’ US of A. Figure.

Start spreading the news…

I’m vegan today! And this is sure to be the first of many excited posts about potential vegan-friendly shopping and eating experiences in the Big Apple.

so: Moo Shoes is an all-vegan shoe shop, advertising fashion with compassion. Now, in recent travels to Melbourne I visited a vegan shoe shop. This was all very well – everything looked well made, the ethics were good, but the shoes themselves were not so attractive.

If Moo Shoes’ site is anything to go by, styles are wide-ranging and often cute! Check out: Novacas heels and more heels and slightly more sensible heels and everything else they make, red boots from Vegetarian Shoes, Queenbee bags.

Also the Vegan Guide to NYC! I can see great shopping in my future.

OK, only one of us really could be the character played by Marlo Thomas though, I dunno – in a way a couple of us could be if flailing arms, bizarre coincidences and great spin count. 

(Helene Hanff fans, don’t despair …  Apple of my eye is sure to appear in more than one post.  As it is, one of us (really, that girl) has visited 84 Charing Cross Rd. In your actual London.  She gets around, that girl.)
